    1. Agreement to Terms

    These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LumiSkills website at learn.lumiskills.ca and any educational programs, mentorship, and related services offered by LumiSkills ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

    2. Eligibility

    You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding contracts to use our services. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

    3. Our Services

    LumiSkills provides career mentorship, educational content, and guidance to help professionals transition into data and technology roles. Our services include, but are not limited to, mentorship programs, video lessons, written materials, and community support.

    We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services at any time without prior notice.

    4. Educational Content & No Guarantee of Results

    All programs, strategies, frameworks, and materials provided by LumiSkills are for educational and informational purposes only. While we share real frameworks and mentorship based on experience, we make no guarantees regarding employment outcomes, salary levels, or career advancement.

    Your results depend on your individual effort, background, market conditions, and execution. Nothing in our content constitutes professional career, legal, or financial advice.

    5. User Accounts & Responsibilities

    When you create an account or provide information to us, you agree to:

    • Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of any account credentials.
    • Be responsible for all activity under your account.
    • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

    6. Acceptable Use

    You agree not to:

    • Use our services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

    8. Payments, Refunds & Cancellations

    Fees for paid programs are displayed at the time of purchase. By purchasing a program, you agree to pay all applicable fees. Specific refund and cancellation terms for each program are provided at the time of purchase and are governed by the Consumer Protection Act (Alberta) and applicable federal consumer protection law.

    Unless otherwise stated in a program's specific terms, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. If you are entitled to a refund under Alberta consumer protection law or our program-specific policy, we will process it in accordance with those terms.

    9. Third-Party Content & Links

    Our website may contain links to third-party websites, tools, or resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party sites and do not endorse them. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

    10. Disclaimers

    Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.     To the maximum extent permitted by law, LumiSkills, its founders, instructors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or career opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use our services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

    This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of Alberta and Canada.

    12. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LumiSkills and its team from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of our services or your violation of these Terms.

    13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

    These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation.

    If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, the parties agree to attempt mediation in Alberta before pursuing litigation. Any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the courts of the Province of Alberta, Canada.

    14. Changes to These Terms

    We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

    15. Severability

    If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under Alberta or Canadian law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
